Hello everyone Simon here. And I am here to un-box, review
and put my two cents.
Let’s get started. I ordered a Logitech M275 Wireless mouse via Amazon. The price was catchy. Usually I do my shopping when lightning deals are up in the market.
The price cut and new products are introduced at this moment.
Yes, most important thing now in Indian Amazon market is that few electronic items like Mobile, Lamps, Monitors, TVs are all not eligible for a re-fund but qualified for an exchange. You need to send them back with all the original accessories with packing and they will send you another one once they get the product.

[Unboxing]
Once you remove the outer cover of Amazon packing you can see a very small box which houses a tiny mouse which
has got lot slimmer and weighs less. Yes, the carton looks amazing with all the
seller and import details. The MRP was stated as 1,195 INR for one quantity. However, I hit the lightning deal at
750 bucks. As I rotate the box and see the side portion of it, I get to know
few details like place and form factors. Now slowly peeling off the cover with
a sharp knife or tactical knife reveals a portion of the carton to unravel the
mouse. Pulling the mouse out of the box, one can see it being placed so diligently
inside and has a Nano receiver at the back. Removing the mouse from its
fixture, usually made of paper, one can feel it’s tactile form factor. It feels
like the mouse has not eaten in days and has slimmed down a bit(lol). A
transparent cover protects the surface from the scratches and dust, probably.
When you turn your mouse upside-down, you can see a plastic paper just running
into the battery compartment. Slowly opening it will reveal that a 15 A – AA – 1.5V battery cell placed
there. And it is covered with one end of the plastic paper so there isn’t a complete
circuit. Pulling the cover off the battery, a connection is made and you can
simply turn a small switch to on/off. This lights up a green led light at the
top of the mouse. That’s our cue for further process. You can pick the Nano
receiver from the box and plug into a usb port on you PC/Tablet/Laptop/Mac.
Once done the drivers will be downloaded automatically in all latest versions
of the Windows/iOS. I have not tried it on Ubuntu, but it should work in my
opinion.
[Review]
The mouse has this tactile form factor may be cloned from
some other mice. But it is strong, has good DPI, invisible optics and more over
comes under the budget. This mouse has been designed for those who are right
handed. It has three buttons namely right, left and middle, which also acts
like a scroll wheel. The scroll wheel also has this tactile design which has
grooves on it and that makes it handy. The right and left clicks are too smooth
as if you hear no clicks around while using it. The movement is quite good.
Since it is new, I will let you know about battery life in couple of months. It
has this sweet embossing of Logitech logo on the front which isn’t that flashy
when compared to the rival manufacturers or its predecessors. The mouse just
has this snug fit into your hand which makes us not to leave that even a second
(well my humble thought).
Although the company says it can work flawless 18 months without the change of battery
cell. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have an option for unified compatibility. Yes,
if we lose the dongle (Nano receiver) you may want to throw the mouse. M280 which is a little pricier than
this also has unified compatibility and it comes with color variants. The software can be downloaded on the mother
site. The stock software runs on Windows/Mac as of now. However, it is still at
its infancy.
[Good & not good...]
- Has a good build design, tactical form factor, cool buttons and the scroll wheel is a good art of work.
- Mostly suits right handed person and is cheap.
- Fits snugly into your palm.
- Weighs less and slim in its size factor.
- Invisible optic light, which is an added cream.
- One battery cell lasts around 18 months, that’s one and half year *YAY*.
- Nano receiver which comes along with the package is just plug and play, no drivers to be installed manually.
- Little cheaper adds this mouse to a sector where one cannot use unified software.
- Even though it’s cheaper it can be provided with a two-year battery life.
- Left handed people might want to say no to this design.
- If you shell out a couple of bucks, you may get M280 which has 2 years of cell life and also comes with unified software compatibility.
- Last, it could have been shipped with a pad.
[My two cents]
If you need a mouse under the budget this is the right
candidate. It comes with the tactile design, good form factor, good battery
cell life and even has a good grip on it. If you’d like to shell out a few
bucks more you may want to think about the m280 or m330 which are awesome. I
will stick to this mouse for a couple of months and will let you know in
detail.
To gamers, this isn’t the right mouse for you. You may want to go to the wired ones. Even though these are not affected by the interference I would not recommend since agility of the cursor is not good as it should be. DPI is lower in this range where gamers shall need like 2000 DPI for instance.
With Love, peace and respects. This is your Simon.
