Dell has launched a new tablet called Dell Venue 8 Pro. The
tablet comes with an 8-inch screen, having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at
190 PPI. It has a dual core processor, clocked at 1.33 GHz each. It has 2 GB
RAM and a ROM of 64 gigs. It also comes in 32 gigs version. The back of the
tablet features 5 MP camera and front with 1.2 MP.
The dell venue pro 8 runs on windows 8 that can be upgraded
to windows 10. It is powered by a strong battery of 4830 mAh which is
non-removable and weighs only 400 gms. The other options include Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi,
compass, accelerometer and an ambient light sensor. There are other versions of dell venue, which includes an
android version too. The windows edition will support windows OS and that can
be upgraded to windows 10, which works like a charm. Windows 10 also saves much
battery if you’re on move.
It supports games like asphalt 8, racer, NFS and
much more. Windows should be 32 bit or x86 architecture.
There is no
HDMI port, no VGA supportable extension and no expandable storage. The tablet
is sleek, small and powerful. It supports full HD playback flawlessly. It can
handle multi-tasking easily. No hiccups while switching between applications.
Microsoft word and other applications works really great. The keyboard
functionality is quite good.
On the top, there is a button for windows shortcut and a
headphone jack. There are volume rockers at the right-side along with a power
button. At the bottom, there is a speaker, which is mono. There’s no button on
the left-side. The screen is 8 in. and had vivid colour reproduction. On the
screen, there is a camera at the top, and an ambient sensor for
auto-brightness.
The tablet I have been using till now had no issues other than
Wi-Fi connectivity. The Wi-Fi doesn’t seem to work when it has been switched on
for a longer period on time. Most of the applications work good. The tablet has 64 gigs rom, of which only 35 gigs will be
available once you install windows. Sometimes HD videos or movies might eat up
space. So, you can use an OTG cable and add the thumb drive for movies. Games
might eat up more space, however windows store games sometimes might not work
correctly due to internet connectivity issues.
Finally, if you need a tablet that boots up fast and allows
you to work while on the move, you can always resort to Dell Venue 8 Pro 5000
Series tablet. This is one of the best tablets currently available in the
Indian market with an average budget. There are other tablets like Lenovo yoga,
Sony, Xiomi, Micromax, HP Slate and others.
